The Socialist Night School is open to anybody interested in learning more about the ideas and history behind left and socialist movements. Like most STL DSA events, we will be conducting these virtually for now.

In the third week of STL DSA's Summer 2021 Socialist Night School, we look at different theories of social change.

At its base, the idea of struggling against something necessitates a method by which struggle happens. The struggle against capitalism and for socialism has looked a lot of different ways historically. Sometimes, it’s a mass of workers rising up against bosses, sometimes it’s indigeneous activists working with trade unionists––no matter what the struggle looks like we have to consider how we negotiate theories of revolution and change into action for a given situation. This session surveys the big ideas surrounding the mode of struggle in socialist struggles.
