The climate strike called by Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg has spread throughout the world and students all over Chicagoland will be walking out demanding immediate action on climate change. These students have now been joined by over a 1000 Amazon Tech Workers nationally who will be walking off their jobs to demand Amazon and CEO Jeff Bezos take real action to confront the climate change crisis. With Amazon's rapidly growing fleet of fossil fuel powered airplanes, boats, trains, semi-truck and delivery vehicles, the retailer is a major contributor to climate change. In fact, transportation is now the largest contributor to climate change in Illinois and nationally.
