You are warmly invited to join us for the South East Green Party (SEGP) Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday 23rd January 2021 which will be followed by a workshop on the Green Party’s Target to Win strategy and messaging - essential for Green election success in the May 2021 local elections - more about this below.

PART ONE - The South East Green Party AGM (23 Jan 2021 10.30am- approx. 12pm)

This is a great opportunity to contribute to the region! Because of other commitments, several of the current SEGP committee members won’t be available to continue with their roles into 2021. A description of each available committee role is, here along with instructions as to how to apply (by 16th Jan if possible please), but do remember that, even though the committee roles have specific definitions, the jobs are flexible. In fact the roles depend on holders deciding how to develop them. Everywhere communication is changing, and this can be used to our advantage, particularly in the world of Zoom communications both within the South East and nationally. So why not consider taking some responsibility, growing skills and supporting the growth of Green politics and influence across the South East of England by volunteering your time and energy? You can even stand as a job share! These roles aren’t time consuming, but they are vitally important. PART TWO - An Introduction to the Green Party’s Successful Target to Win Strategy and Messaging (23 Jan 2021 approx. 12:00-1.30pm)

We’ll spend an hour to an hour and a half on the AGM and then move straight onto a fun and interactive session for the rest of the time, run by Claudia Fisher, your Green Party SE Field Organiser, which will give a background understanding of the Green Party’s successful Target to Win strategy and messaging. This strategy is tried and tested. We know it works! Do you want to help Greens do well in the May elections? Then this session is a must!

There will be opportunities to discuss campaign messaging and methods, to learn more about your region and local parties, and to volunteer your skills in the run up to the 6th May 2021 elections. We have around 80 Green councillors across the region, working hard every day and all making significant gains for Green causes. Seven are up for re-election and a further 70 seats are being actively contested, with a Green candidate standing in pretty much every seat across the region. Our aim? To double our Green Councillor numbers across the South East!

That’s where you come in - whether it is helping deliver newsletters, ringing volunteers, posting on social media or standing as a candidate, there is something for everyone. Your skills, energy and time will be invaluable. Together as a team, we can make a reayl difference to the face of local politics in 2021! Tips for experiencing Hubbub in the best way:

1. Use your desktop computer and make sure you've upgraded to the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Opera or Microsoft Edge 79+.
2. Allow Hubbub access to your microphone and camera.
3. If you're wearing headphones you can have your spatial audio on. If you remove your headphones at any point, please turn off your spatial audio otherwise you will cause an echo for other participants. You can find the spatial audio button on the top of your Hubbub screen in "Settings”.
4. Explore different virtual rooms and new conversations! You can do this by clicking on yourself and then clicking on a room name within one of the dotted circles.
