Statewide Poor People's March To The Polls

Start: Saturday, October 15, 202212:00 PM

End: Saturday, October 15, 2022 1:00 PM

Everyone, from all over the state of Maryland, please join us in Westminster on October 15!

A few months ago, tens of thousands of people stood with us in the nation's capital, at the Mass Poor People's & Low-Wage Workers' Assembly and Moral March on Washington and to the Polls, to demand immediate and transformative action to address systemic injustice in our nation. We declared that as a movement, we would take 7 next steps before the midterm elections, including a commitment to engage in mass voter education and mobilization in poor and low-income communities through every means available.

As part of our election engagement, leaders from each state will organize a march with at least 100 people down a main street at noon local time on Saturday, October 15th to lift up our campaign demands, ensure that the issues of poor and low-income people and low wage workers are at the center of the national narrative around the election, and organize and mobilize poor and low income voters to the polls.

Maryland will meet in the grassy area behind Westminster City Hall, where parking is available off Locust St. (View Location Here)

The march will begin at noon, so please arrive before then. The march will last about 30 minutes and then we will here testifiers and others on the importance of mobilizing to the polls!

Please note: if you require seating, please bring your own portable chairs as there is no public seating available.
