On Wednesday, July 9, we in Sacramento will join with the people of Lac-Megantic to send the message: Keep Oil Off the Rails and In the Ground!

At a time when we need to be moving forward on climate change, these oil trains are going backwards.  For the good of the climate and future generations, we must leave the oil in the ground. Yet despite the severe threats from climate change and dozens of oil train disasters, the oil industry is seeking to dramatically expand oil by rail in the US and in Canada. Sacramento will see an exponential increase of these dangerous oil trains right though our downtown. It's time to say NO!

Lac-Megantic’s tragedy is a grim reminder: It can happen here. 

Please join us in front of the Federal Railroad Administration office at 8th & I Streets on Wednesday, July 9. Bring signs in the shape of oil cars.
