Around the world, the climate crisis is destroying homes, ruining crops, and burning forests. Communities in the global south did the least to cause the climate crisis, but they are bearing the brunt of climate-induced loss and damage. Many of these countries and communities have fewer resources to face climate impacts because they were ravaged by colonialism and slavery.

The global north owes reparations to the global south for climate injustice, colonialism, and slavery. Governments must provide finance to the countries and communities most affected, and tax big polluters to pay for their role in causing the harm.

How can we incorporate these demands into our campaigning on new oil & gas licenses? Join us to learn more about loss and damage, climate reparations, and the responsibility of big polluters to pay for the harms they’ve caused.
