Stories for Change: A Rooted in Rights Storytelling Workshop

Learn how to amplify your message and create change through storytelling!

Join Rooted in Rights in December for a virtual three-day storytelling workshop series! Participants will learn how to use storytelling as an advocacy tool and practice writing their own advocacy story.

This workshop is open to the public but we will be centering the stories and experiences of disabled folks. ASL interpretation and CART will be provided.

Rooted in Rights will be hosting this workshop over Zoom. Participants can join the workshop meetings through a computer or mobile device, or by calling in.

At the end of the workshop participants will have a script of their own advocacy stories, and a suggestion of where to share them!

Workshop Outline:

Thursday, December 3 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Pacific Time
Learn about Rooted in Rights and the work that we do. Brainstorm ideas for your advocacy story and work on your script.

Thursday, December 10 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Pacific Time
Small group script sharing. Discuss how media has been used to create change.

Thursday, December 17 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Pacific Time
Discover different opportunities to share your advocacy story and how self advocates are using storytelling media to support movements.
