Student Bloc at NY Tenant March

Start: Thursday, June 14, 2018 5:00 PM

In the last 8 years, New York Governor Cuomo has done nothing to solve the housing crisis. In fact, on his watch it has gotten worse:

- We've lost over 100,000 rent stabilized apartments
- More than 89,000 people are living in shelters or emergency housing statewide.
- Nearly 400,000 people have faced evictions.

As students we face a double threat of rising rents and rising tuition! Cuomo's continued refusal to sign a maintenance of effort bill has led to a massive under-funding of our education.

We live in dilapidated apartments and go to crumbling colleges!

We are dropping out of college and being displaced from our homes!

As Students, As Tenants and homeless New Yorkers have had enough!! Join us on the steps of the New York Public Library to rally for stronger tenant protections and an investment in ending homelessness across the State.

If you're interested in Joining the student bloc we'll be meeting at 4.30 at the north west entrance to Bryant Park on 42nd and 6th (we will then walk over to the main rally at 4.50). Make sure you look out for the big blue CUNY Rising banner.

ARE YOU UPSTATE AND WANT TO JOIN?

Free buses will be bringing people from all around New
York State to the March. Send us a message for more information
