Last session, the New York Health Act was  reintroduced with a majority of cosponsors in the New York State Senate and Assembly for the first time, and  made it through the Assembly Healthcare Committee! This means that we were closer than ever to winning single-payer healthcare for all New Yorkers--but our work isn't done yet! We need to build and activate a massive base of support to make sure the NYHA is put up for a vote this legislative session!

Join the NYC-DSA Healthcare Working Group to talk to our neighbors about the New York Health Act Sunday, October 17 from 1-3 p.m. We'll gather at 1 p.m. at Highland Park to talk to our neighbors about the New York Health Act and ask them to call key legislators and get involved in our campaign. There will be a training at the start of the event for all new canvassers! Please wear a mask and any DSA or Medicare for All gear you have, and bring a friend!

EDIT: Due to rainy and cold weather all day, we will be phonebanking on Saturday instead of tabling.  But, there is no better time than to grab a coffee, a bagel, and hop on our zoom to call your fellow DSA members to turn them out to next week's actions and our big tabling event on June 5th.
