Taking Charge of the Narrative: Frame Progressive Values and Change the World

Start: Saturday, October 07, 2017 3:00 PM

End: Saturday, October 07, 2017 5:00 PM

Using the work of brain scientists who show that emotions and values shape how people vote, writer and activist Chris Devlin will explain why conservatives have been so successful at framing every issue and winning elections. She will walk progressives through how to shift the view to a compassionate and hopeful vision of the future. If you're an activist, a blogger, interested in running for office or helping a campaign, or if you just want to communicate more effectively with those around you, attend this interactive workshop. Learn how to change hearts in order to change minds while taking charge of our nation's story. (A familiarity with George Lakoff's book "Don't Think of an Elephant: Know Your Values and Frame the Debate" is advisable but not mandatory.)"

This is a free event. Capacity is 70 so please RSVP early. No child-care, and kids might not be interested in this event.
