Join us on Thurs., Dec. 22 for a Solidarity Action in front of First Hawaiian Bank from 3:30pm - 5:30pm (corner of Bishop St. & King St.) as part of the December Global Month of #NoDAPL Actions. Tell First Hawaiian Bank, which is owned by BNP Paribas, a large investor in the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL), to divest from the pipeline, and if you're an account holder, show them you mean business by closing your account!

Background:
This rally is part of an international call to action. By gathering in Solidarity with similar actions across the world we hope to call attention to the Brave Heart Water Protectors at Standing Rock, and hold DAPL banks accountable.

Through divestment we will starve the Black Snake. Banks financing the DAPL project have not yet disbursed all the loan funds they’ve committed. These banks now face a clear opportunity to reconsider further funding a project steeped in controversy and demonstrating material loss.

Public pressure is forcing DAPL’s lenders to confront the reality that they are backing companies who are openly defying the rule of law, undermining the regulatory process and authority of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and setting a dangerous precedent. Now these lenders must take a stand.

It is time for these banks to cut their losses and for us to turn up the heat.
