Supreme Court Justice William Brennan called the trial of 28 activists “one of the great trials of the 20th century.” Despite acknowledging their involvement, all defendants were acquitted of the crime that took place 50 years ago this year.
The award-winning documentary The Camden 28 (produced in 2007) revisits the Vietnam War era protest action and trial 35 years after the events to explore the participants’ motives, fears, and estimates of the personal costs of their activism and the changes that activism made possible in America.
