Trans rights are under threat and the Tory government is only making matters worse.

In recent months, it was revealed that the Tory government will be reversing on its pledge to update the Gender Recognition Act, which means refusing to allow people to officially change their gender without a medial diagnosis. Meanwhile, there has been no progress on the government's LGBT Action Plan published two years ago. Transphobic attacks are on the rise, and the abuse that trans people are faced with online is nothing short of inhumane.

The current coronavirus crisis has highlighted so many flaws in our current political and economic system - and the real intentions of those driving this agenda. After years of cuts and privatisation, we know that our healthcare system was never ready for a pandemic. We also know it has been failing the trans community. Access to free services are few and far between and the waiting list for NHS gender identity clinics are through the roof.

But how did we get here? And how do we turn around the trend? How do we build a powerful movement to defend trans rights and win equality for all?

In spite of the challenges, the fight for trans rights is alive and kicking, and especially now as we celebrate Trans Awareness Week! For this reason, we're excited to be delivering an extra special event with an incredible guest.

Join us for a vital online talk and Q&A with Co-Director of Trans Actual, Jane Fae, on how we can build a powerful movement behind and in solidarity with our trans siblings in the fight for equality.
