When: Monday 23 September (meeting at 8am to protest outside Shell HQ until 915am - so join us when you can between 8am and 915am. Otherwise, meet us at Downing Street at approx 10am for action there and moving on to protest at BP)

End point: BP at approximately 11am

September is going to see protests and mobilisation for climate action all around the world.

The climate youth strikers will again be taking to the streets on 20 September to demand a fossil free future. They are asking for adult solidarity and Mothers Rise Up will be out in force on 20 September.

To keep up the momentum after the 20 September, the Mamas are organising a climate rhyme protest on Monday 23 September, outside the Shell HQ in London before moving on to Parliament, No 10 Downing Street and finishing at BP.

That day, Monday 23 September, world leaders including Boris Johnson will be meeting at a UN Climate Action Summit in New York. As they meet, we need to show world leaders and the fossil fuel industry the HUGE support for climate action.

Time is running out - we need to move rapidly to a fossil free future!

So what’s the plan?

We will protest and sing outside Shell. The fossil fuel industry must radically change course and stop putting profit before people and planet. From there at approximately 915am, we will march in procession past the Houses of Parliament and onto No 10 Downing Street, finishing at BP.

A thread of mums with empty pushchairs will lead the procession symbolising the urgency of the crisis and the uncertainty of the future. If you are able to come without children, we are looking for volunteers who are willing to push an empty pushchair. Otherwise, bring subverted nursery rhymes, decorated placards and pushchairs.

As the Arctic and Amazon burn, the need for drastic action to protect our precious planet and all of our childrens’ futures has never been more urgent. If you’re sick of feeling helpless about the destruction of our shared home, come out and fight for it and our childrens’ futures. JOIN US OUTSIDE THE SHELL HQ, MONDAY 23 SEPTEMBER!

Please note that this action is organised by mums but it’s not just for mums! We welcome anyone who is moved by love for a child and by love for our threatened planet.

IF YOU WANT TO SAVE THE PLANET, TAKE TO THE STREETS! IF YOU WANT TO SAVE THE PLANET, RAISE YOUR VOICE!
