Marylia Kelly is the Executive Director of the Livermore based Tri-Valley CARES (Communities Against a Radioactive Environment). Ms. Kelly brings 27 years of in-depth research, writing and experience in facilitating public participation in decisions regarding the Lawrence Livermore National Lab and US nuclear weapons, waste, and cleanup. She has represented Tri-Valley CARES at the United Nations, testified before the United States Congress, the California Legislature, and the National Academy of Sciences on nuclear weapons issues. She has written for numerous publications. Ms. Kelly will discuss:

  • The negotiations for the treaty
  • The role of NGOs in the ratification process
  • The process of ratification
  • The treaty obligations of ratifying countries
  • The role VFP and other organizations can play in persuading the United States to consider ratifying the treaty & how to mobilize others to support the treaty.
