PROTEST at the US SUPREME COURT - MAY 15  9:00 am

In the first days of his rule, Trump issued an executive order stripping away the fundamental right to Birthright Citizenship – in blatant violation of the U.S. Constitution, causing anguish and agonizing danger for millions of immigrant and refugee families.

Birthright citizenship means that every person born in the United States automatically becomes a citizen of the United States. This is written into the 14^th Amendment of the Constitution and was won after the Civil War to grant citizenship to formerly enslaved people.

On May 15^th the U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments on whether nationwide temporary injunctions blocking the implementation of Trump’s order - issued by federal judges in three states - can remain in effect, legally constraining ICE from ripping apart families while the long process of legal cases winds through the courts. If the Supreme Court overturns the nationwide injunctions, then Birthright Citizenship will be gone for most of the country for an indefinite period of time – opening the door to many more attacks on the rights and lives of whole groups of people.

This is a blatant attack on the rule of law, on the Constitution itself, and on the separation of powers. This is the heart of a fascist form of rule. It is up to us – to the people – to say NO!
