The formal agreement of the UK-EU Free Trade Agreement in December brought the UK out of the EU single market and customs union. But more than that, it suggests that struggles over future trade agreements are on the horizon.

Trade agreements in the modern world hold so much power to shape the way we live and the rules we live by. From environmental standards to workers rights and everything in between, trade is a key battleground for labour movements and the Left.

Nevertheless, the bluster and rhetoric surrounding trade negotiations can mask complex changes to the world we live in. And the UK's Tory government has a clear agenda: cut costs, slash standards, and realise the exploitative Britain they have always dreamed of.

To help us understand the current conjuncture, the UK-EU deal and the fights on the horizon, we have convened a panel of experts and campaigners to take part in a wide-ranging discussion:

Allison Roche - National Policy Officer at UNISON

Ruth Bergan - Senior Advisor at Trade Justice Movement

Nick Dearden - Director at Global Justice Now

Emily Jones - Political economist at the University of Oxford

Their talk will be followed by a Q&A, which promises to be informative for all involved. Register now to attend!
