Planning an action this fall or in the future? Join us for an Action Planning 101 training with Patrick Houston, an experienced action planner and organizer. We'll go over the basics of what makes a good action, including steps to take, art and materials, roles, outreach, press, and absorption, and how you can implement them in your community.

Participants will leave ready to organize an action in their community as part of the Blame Wall Street Wave of Actions!

About Patrick: Patrick Houston is an organizer and activist originally from Philadelphia. Over the past five years, he’s organized with New York Communities for Change to build and deploy political power in low-income Black and Latinx communities. Most recently he’s organized with The Sunrise Project, coordinating grassroots pressure on Wall Street to stop the money pipeline. Patrick has organized dozens of actions from 3 to 3,000 attendees targeting government, corporations, and the fossil fuel industry. He’s a grateful alum of the Community College of Philadelphia, holds a Bachelor’s from Swarthmore College, and is currently studying urban planning and policy at Tufts University.

About Blame Wall Street: Extreme heat. Wildfires. Hurricanes. Flooding. Wall Street is fueling extreme weather events around the globe by funneling billions of dollars into the fossil fuel industry and deforestation.

This fall, we're organizing a wave of actions laying the blame at their feet and getting them to STOP funding fossil fuels and climate destruction.

Event will be on zoom. If you have accessibility needs (for example, you wish to be sent the training materials or slides ahead of time), please indicate them when you register.
