The Philadelphia Transit Equity Coalition invites you to our second annual Transit Equity Day celebration. Join us for a two hour town hall-style discussion on how we can create a more equitable transportation system in Philadelphia. There will be structured discussion and birthday cake.

We want to hear from you! Bring your stories and ideas for how to improve SEPTA and the rest of Philadelphia’s transportation system. We invite you to share and listen throughout a series of small group and large group discussions. Public officials will be present to hear from you.

February 22 marks the 181st birthday of Octavius Catto, civil rights leader who fought to desegregate Philadelphia’s horse-drawn trolleys in the 19th century. Octavius Catto's actions affirmed that everyone has a right to public transit.

Scribe Video Center will be present to discuss their oral history project about Philadelphian's stories and hopes about transit. You can sign up to participate!

You can read about last year’s Transit Equity Day here and here.

1:00 - 1:20: Gallery walk and introductions. Where did you come from, and how did you get here?

1:20 - 2:10: Facilitated small group discussion. What does Transit Equity mean to you? How do you want to change transportation in Philadelphia?

2:15 - 3:00: Full group discussion and report backs. Then we eat cake!
