Community Panel with School Bus Activists

Mark the birthday of late Transit Equity & Civil Rights fighter Mrs. Rosa Parks with school bus activists and others.

Saturday February 4th from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. at Harry S. Truman High School planetarium, located at 750 Baychester Avenue Bronx, NY 10475 in the Co-op City area.

The schools on that campus are coping with constant transportation struggles. The current insensitive, for-profit school bus system leaves behind 100s of students every day! We want a labor-community leadership with the power to implement routes that are safe, reliable and sustainable.

We are excited to have an exchange with activists of all ages (and some local elected officials) about the goals of our School Bus Bill of Rights campaign among other efforts by NYC parents, grandparents, disability advocates, and unions to fix busing for the riders and workers. The cooperative complex nearby is a diverse naturally occurring retirement community with a high concentration of union members and retirees (yet the nearest subway station has no elevator).
