Tucson: Arizona Youth Climate Strike
Start: Friday, December 06, 2019• 2:30 PM
End: Friday, December 06, 2019• 5:00 PM
The consequences of Climate Change are too dangerous to ignore, yet the people in charge continue to do so. We do not. We are striking again to demand that our cities take action on climate change by declaring a climate emergency and committing to create climate action and resiliency plans. Tucson is the spearhead for Southern Arizona. As the state's second biggest city and democratic stronghold, Tucson's voice must ring out as an example for Arizona. We are fortunate to have many representatives who support the climate movement. However, it is time to transform promises into tangible and impactful change.
This is why we are asking you to join us on December 6th at Jacome Plaza. We will be having a strike from 2:30 to 5:00, beginning with a march around Tucson's governmental hub. The march will begin and end at Jacome Plaza so our officials are forced to see and hear our power. We need Tucson to show up and demand action. We have the opportunity to influence Tucson's and Arizona's future policy but we need everyone's help. We can do this, together.
