Because participating in our democracy should never be an opt-in process. Automatic Voter Registration (AVR) is a common-sense reform that achieves three goals- modernizes voter registration, increases the accuracy of voter rolls, and brings more citizens into the democratic process.

15 states and Washington DC have implemented some form of AVR since 2015. Since no two states are the same, AVR looks different across the country.
