The DSA Labor Commission is proud to sponsor an education event on Thursday, August 13 at 5:30 PM which will feature the Zoom showing of the 70 minute film "Union Time" Union Time documents the history of the successful 16 year process of organizing the Smithfield pork processing plant in Tar Heel North Carolina. This is one of the largest food processing facilities in the world with 5000 workers and was one of the largest private sector union victories in a generation. The movie will be introduced by the Smithfield campaign director Gene Bruskin. After the showing Bruskin will answer questions and discuss the movie. Bruskin is a labor organizer with over 40 years experience who was also one of the co-founders of US Labor Against the War.
