On Wednesday, June 18th at 5pm Pacific / 8pm Eastern, we at the Labor Campaign for Single Payer will host a webinar to educate and mobilize union workers in the fight to #ReclaimMedicare from corporate greed. The event will feature remarks from:
- Senator Elizabeth Warren
- Representative Pramila Jayapal
- Sara Nelson, International President of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA
- Dr. Belinda McIntosh, Physicians for a National Health Program
- two individuals who have been directly impacted by for-profit Medicare Advantage plans
Rose Roach, our National Coordinator, will moderate the panel, and present materials from the special in-person briefing we held for Labor Leaders at AFL-CIO National Headquarters in Washington, D.C. in April.
The webinar will last 90 minutes, including time for Q&A from attendees.
We will focus on why it is important for the Labor Movement to protect Medicare from privatization by insurance corporations, and include what unions and workers can do to fight back. While the webinar is centered on the devastating impacts Medicare Advantage has on union workers and retirees, all are invited to attend!
