Vigil for Endangered Salmon

Start: Saturday, November 20, 2021 4:00 PM

End: Saturday, November 20, 2021 6:00 PM

Join us on the evening of Saturday, Nov. 20 for a vigil to highlight the plight of critically endangered salmon and call for urgent action by our elected leaders to restore rivers, salmon, and to invest in communities.

Salmon extinction cannot be an option. The loss of salmon is an existential threat to tribal nations, fishers, businesses, and communities throughout the Northwest. Steep salmon declines also imperil many other fish and wildlife populations - including the Southern Resident orcas that rely upon Chinook salmon as their primary source of food.

This year, public officials in the Northwest are finally beginning to pay attention to this ecological and community crisis - but they are moving too slowly. Join us and many others to honor the salmon, highlight their plight, and call on leaders - faster and farther. Salmon and orcas are running out of time.

** Event is rain or shine and will include a slow walk. Bring warm rain gear & comfortable shoes. **
