Defend the Winter Fuel Payment – protest action training

On 30th November, Unite the Union in conjunction with Fuel Poverty Action is coordinating protests across the UK to demand the reinstatement of the winter fuel allowance.

This online training will guide you in how to organise your own protest as part of the day of action on 30th November.

For over a decade, Fuel Poverty Action has been using “warm ups” as an effective method of protest to highlight fuel poverty. The principle is that if you can’t keep warm at home, you have the right to enter any public space and keep warm there. Such actions have been carried out in locations ranging from the House of Commons lobby to energy company HQs and shopping centres.

In this training session, we will guide activists to coordinate warm ups in your local area, as part of the national day of action on 30th November.
