WE STAND WITH STANDING ROCK! Emergency IntersACTION
As we continue to organize against Trudeau's approval of the Kinder
Morgan pipeline, we also need to respond to an urgent call to action
from those on the frontlines in Standing Rock fighting against the
Dakota Access pipeline.
The US Army Corps of Engineers has
just issued the final "easement" allowing pipeline drilling to be
completed without an Environmental Impact Statement.
Police
also continue to harass and attack water protectors, with over 70
recently arrested and charged with "rioting" and other offences for
setting up another camp to oppose the pipeline.
There has been a call for solidarity actions, which Climate Convergence is responding to by organizing
an Emergency IntersAction at Georgia and Howe in downtown Vancouver.
This is a very visible intersection where the main Vancouver branch of
the TD Bank is located - one of the major investors in the Dakota Access
pipeline.
We ask everyone to join us in standing in solidarity
with indigenous nations asserting their right to self-determination and
defending everyone from these unnecessary and dangerous projects which
are literally destroying the planet.

No Pipelines on Stolen Native Lands!
No to Dakota Access, Kinder Morgan, Line 3 and Keystone XL Pipelines!
We acknowledge we are on the traditional, unceded, occupied territories
of the Coast Sallish peoples: the mi ce:p kʷətxʷiləm (Tsleil-Waututh),
Skwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish), and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations.
What is an IntersAction?
It's an action where we flood an intersection on all sides with people
crossing (on the light) with signs and banners without stopping the flow
of traffic. This way we can be seen by and engage with the most people.
