You're invited to kick off the new year with us to discuss starting a World BEYOND War Chapter in Illinois!

We'll hear from seasoned Chicago-based activist and WBW board president, Kathy Kelly, on why war is never the answer and how to work towards abolishing it. Kathy’s efforts to end wars have led her to living in war zones and prisons over the past 35 years.

After Kathy's talk, we'll go into breakout rooms to meet fellow Illinois activists and brainstorm ideas together for starting an Illinois WBW chapter focused on the mission of abolishing war. As part of discussing the formation of an Illinois chapter, we’ll talk about how the chapter can collaborate with and amplify the work of other organizations in Illinois, helping to connect the dots between war and other issues, in acknowledgement of what Dr. King called the triple evils of war, racism, and poverty.
