Meet leaders of Frente Auténtico del Trabajo/Authentic Workers’ Front (FAT), an independent federation of labor unions, worker owned cooperatives, and farmworker and community organizations. FAT is well known for promoting democracy in unions, and in all of Mexico. They represent workers in manufacturing, as well as transportation and the public sector, in more than half the states of Mexico. FAT also plays a leading role in the fight against NAFTA and the Mexican government’s harsh austerity policies.
