The DNC is meeting in San Francisco to vote on hosting a Climate Debate, and the nation will be watching. Of course, we're going to turn up in force to keep the pressure on and make sure our voices are heard.

Climate change threatens to touch every aspect of human life; it's not just one issue: it's everywhere. That's why we need this debate, and that's why we need your voice with us.

We're also building a youth movement, and that means training. We'll  be holding our West Regional Summit, an opportunity for Sunrisers from across the Western region of the United States to come together, develop our organizing skills, and build our collective power to push for a livable future. So if you're looking to step up and join the movement, now is the perfect chance.

On August 24th-25th, hundreds of Sunrisers from across the West are going to gather in the Bay Area for one of Sunrise’s four regional summits. The Summit will be an opportunity to meet other hub members from around the region and build community across the movement. Attendees will be trained in Sunrise’s DNA as well as attend specialized breakout trainings on communications strategy, action planning, fundraising, building partnerships, and other core skills to build out powerful hubs. Join us for one of Sunrise’s biggest training yet!

-----------------------WHO IS THIS FOR?-----------------------------

- YOUNG PEOPLE (AGES 13-35) looking for a meaningful way to protect our homes and the people we love from the climate crisis. We value the support and participation of our adults and elders, but this Summit is for developing the leadership skills of our young people in the movement. For individuals over the age of 35, there are other ways to get involved like joining your local hub or donating what you can.

- We believe it’s important that the people we invest leadership training in reflect the movement we want to build-- a young, multi-racial movement that represents many different backgrounds. We especially want to invest in leaders who have historically been left out of the political process including people of color and working-class people.

Note: We are starting the evening of Aug 22, but it's ok to attend the Summit (24-25) if you can't get to the Bay by the 22nd.
