MORE ABOUT THE STRIKES
With the devastating consequences of climate change becoming more clear with each passing day, a powerful wave of the climate action has been spreading across the globe. Young people around the world have been rising up to defend our future and going on strike. In the September Global Week For Future strikes alone, 7.6 million people worldwide took it to the streets.

But September was just the beginning. Acts of civil disobedience (like strikes) are one way that ordinary people can force those in power to listen. That's why we need to continue building power together.

Future strikes are already being planned for Earth Day (4/22/19) and Inauguration Day 2020. With each strike, we can become better organized, get more people engaged, and have greater impact.

WHY SHOULD WE STRIKE?

Communities across Los Angeles are already suffering from the devastating effects of climate change, from drought, to ravaging fires, to heatwaves. People across LA are forced to live next to oil and gas facilities that poison the air around them. The Westside must come together to build local power, stand up for frontline communities, and take action towards the issues affecting our community!

We demand a livable future, and REAL ACTION on climate from our elected officials. It is time for us to stand up and decide: what will we do when our community is under attack? Will we go on business as usual? Or will we rise up instead?

LOGISTICS: This is a Zero Waste event! Please be sure to bring your own reusable water bottle and do not bring any single use packaging!
