June Expo Provides Answers to Locals Asking “What Can I Do?”

What: “What Can I Do?” Grassroots Progressive Activists Event
When: June 10, 2017 10AM – 1PM
Where: The Culinary Union 1630 S. Commerce Street, Downtown Las Vegas 89102

Citizens looking for opportunities to resist the current US Administration’s agenda are invited to the inaugural "What Can I Do?" Expo on June 10, 2017, from 10AM-1PM. This event will be completely free of charge for both exhibitors and members of the public (sponsored by Culinary Workers Union), and hosted by Southern Nevada Marches Forward and their progressive partner Battle Born Progress.

This will be an opportunity for citizens to learn more about grassroots advocacy tools, and the diverse organizations in our area working for social, economic, and political reform. It’s also a chance for area residents to join a local Indivisible* Chapter.

Exhibitors include progressive non-profits and Las Vegas Indivisibel chapters: Battle Born Progress, Black Democratic Empowerment Project, Citizenship Now!, Culinary Workers Union, Friends of Gold Butte, Gender Justice Nevada, Indivisible Paradise, Las Vegas Artists for Progress, Mi Familia Vota, Moms Demand Action, OWLS, Planned Parenthood of Southern Nevada, Progressive Leadership Alliance/PLAN, Rights Society, Sanctuary Now, Save Red Rock, Sierra Club, Southwest Las Vegas Democrats Club, Swing Left and more.

We’ve taken the concept of ‘one-stop shopping’ and applied it to social activism. This event will give organizations and citizens a chance to meet and find ways to work together.

Also featured at the event: activist-postcard making activities, voter registration and information about the June 13 municipal elections.
