Elections Matter: Time for Louisiana to Think About the Future
10,000 Women Louisiana was started last year by a group of women concerned about their children leaving the state. Do you want to know why young people are leaving Louisiana and moving to more progressive cities? They want to plan for the future, not cling to the past; they want rights to health care, education and respect for all people and races. They want good paying jobs and a high quality of life. They want to embrace the future.
10,000 Women Louisiana Goals for Elections 2023
1. Motivate voters to understand what’s at stake – through social media, trainings, outreach
2. Increase Voter Registration by promoting volunteers to work on voter registration, tabling,
phone banks and outreach and collaborating with other organizations.
3. Increase Voter Turnout by conducting training for volunteers for canvassing and outreach efforts
in targeted districts and college campuses and using digital campaigns to mobilize voters
4. Supporting training for Legislative Candidates and volunteer leaders
5. Mobilizing voters to support candidates
Elections Matter: If we want to change the game- we have to change the players.
Time to focus on the upcoming elections on October 14, 2023. All the statewide elected officials are up
and everyone in the Legislature.
We need competent committed citizens with character, conscience and courage to run for the legislature. We are asking people to consider running in districts – especially where an incumbent that does not represent you values and priorities might run unopposed. Look around your community and encourage leaders to run for the legislature. Get involved in voter registration efforts, candidate and volunteer training and work for the future you want for your family. If you want to run for the legislature- Qualifying is August 8 to 10th .
Now is the time to get engaged. You can make a difference. Get involved with 10,000 Women to get
more thoughtful, smart, serious, savvy people elected. If you are interested in running for the

Register to Vote and Get all your friends and family registered.
The deadline to register to vote in person is September 13th! So check your voter registration and ask
your friends to register at www.geauxvote.com. You can register to vote online by September 23rd .
Now, is the time to make sure that all your friends are registered to vote.
Volunteer to work on voter registration and outreach
10,000 Women is working with other organizations to reach out and register voters.
Volunteer Training to Do Get out the Vote Canvassing
10,000 Women is working with many organizations to motivate and mobilize people to get involved in
the fall elections as volunteers for candidates and to volunteer with nonprofit organizations doing
canvassing and citizen engagement.
