Women's March to the Polls 2018 - Huntsville

Start: Saturday, January 20, 201811:00 AM

Get your hats on Huntsville! The women of Alabama and our allies are ready to make history once more in 2018!

Come together with us on Jan 20, 2018, to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Women’s March and to launch our collective 2018 Women’s March agenda: #PowerToThe Polls.

This past year featured unprecedented assaults on fundamental rights for women, immigrants, LGBTQ+, people with disabilities, the religious and nonreligious, people of color and our environment. But it also featured stories of enormous courage, unity, resistance, persistence and, thanks to all of you, VICTORY!

“In Alabama, Black women delivered as they always do,” said Linda Sarsour, co-chair of the Women’s March. “In addition to being willing to follow and support Black women, we all must commit to fighting the systemic voter suppression laws that inhibit so many of our communities from voting. This campaign will mobilize a new group of activists to create accessible power to our voting polls.”

The unifying theme of the national Women's March to the Polls is "When we vote, we win. When we stay engaged, we win. When we support each other, we win!"

The event location is tentatively scheduled to take place at Big Springs Park in Downtown Huntsville, pending final permit approval. Please stay tuned to our Facebook Page for further updates on meeting places, events, speakers, and additional points of contact.

We need your help in getting the word out so please SHARE this page encourage friends and family to attend. Let's show the world that Alabama women and our allies are united, organized, and ready for action!
