Women's March - Copenhagen, Denmark | http://bit.ly/2icrrbe

Start: Saturday, January 21, 2017 2:00 PM

Denmark will march in unity to promote equality and to protect the rights of women and immigrants and other minority groups on 21 January in Copenhagen. The march, which links with the WomenÍs March on Washington, D.C., will kick off at the U.S. Embassy at 2:00 p.m. and conclude at the Danish Parliament. The nationalist right-wing populism that is rising and spreading throughout the United States and Europe threatens the most marginalized groups in our societies including women, people of color, immigrants, Muslims, the LGBTQIA community and people with disabilities. ńWe must stand together and call upon our elected government leaders to protect those most vulnerable,î says Copenhagen March Organizer and Event Spokesperson Lesley-Ann Brown. ńWe welcome all members of the community to this peaceful march in support of human rights and dignity.î Marches will take place in cities across the United States and around the world including: Barcelona, Copenhagen, London, Oslo, Ottawa and Zurich, with more joining every day. Copenhagen March speakers will include local public figures, community leaders and advocates and will be announced in the coming weeks. About Copenhagen WomenÍs March The CopenhagenÍs Women March is a grassroots event organized by social activists from the United States and Denmark. We stand together in unity for the protection of our rights, safety, health, and families -- recognizing that our vibrant and diverse communities are our greatest asset.
