Let’s put BC on the map with 10 permanent paid sick days for workers.

It was the power of our collective voices that pushed the BC government to provide 3 temporary covid related paid sick days. But we know workers deserve much more.

Last May, we were promised permanent paid sick days in the coming new year. But, did you know that the permanent paid sick leave program on the horizon will exempt employees that work for an employer for less than 3 months?

The BC government agrees that workers shouldn’t have to choose between staying home ill and paying their bills. Now, we need decision makers to align their intention with action by providing 10 permanent paid sick days and an effective plan that covers all workers including workers in their ‘probationary period’.

How B.C. safeguards those who’ve been made vulnerable will demonstrate the priorities of this government now and into the future. Now that we are closer than ever before to seeing this through, let’s mobilize together on October 27th, at 6pm to ensure workers get what they deserve!
