This Summer, the Green Party are electing a new leadership team. Our party’s leaders and deputy leaders have an important role in presenting the policies and strategies decided by members to the public, and we want to make sure our members have the chance to hear from all the candidates.

With the deadlines for climate action approaching ever nearer, and our country in dire need of new solutions following the Coronavirus crisis, it’s more important than ever to have our Party fronted by the right leadership.

And it’s as important than ever that young voices are represented in the debate about who should step-up. Young people are underrepresented in politics on the local and the national scale, but it’s us who face living with the effects of climate change and a broken economy.

Greens often lead the way on youth and students issues, and it’s key that as Young Greens we continue to press the leadership team to make sure we continue to do so.

That’s why we’re hosting hustings for leader and deputy leader candidates. Join us to hear the candidates set out why they think Young Greens should vote for them, and to put your questions to them.

All candidated for Deputy Leader will be in attendance.

  • Tom Pashby
  • Amelia Womack
  • Cleo Lake
  • Nick Humberstone
  • Andrea Carey Fuller

During the hustings, we’ll ask the candidates questions from a mix of pre-submitted questions and questions asked on the night. If you’d like to submit a question for the chance for it to be randomly selected, make sure to fill in the box on the form.

We've got two more hustings coming up as part of this summer's internal elections:

  1. Sign up to the leader hustings we’re holding on the 21st of July.
  2. Sign up to the House of Lords list hustings we’re holding on the 31st of July.

You can visit our Green Party internal elections hub here to find out more about this summer’s elections, and see the answers that GPEx and House of Lords list candidates gave to our questions about Young Greens issues.

To ensure that the voices of young people and students are heard, these hustings are open only to members of the Young Greens. This means that only members of the Green Party aged under-30 or in full time education may attend. However, the hustings will be recorded and posted on our Youtube channel.
