*****Snap online rally on February 20 at 12pm - Urgent call out!***

THIS EVENT IS MADE BY YOUTH FOR YOUTH

We have been hearing so many stories of our school friends and young people from all over the State in crisis with their mental health.

So we started our own group of young people aged 16-25  to call on the Government to listen to us and to make youth mental health a priority at the upcoming State Election in March 2021!

Although some of can't even vote yet, young people with mental health challenges and their families want a voice in WA!

The Western Australian Association for Mental Health (WAAMH) developed the Prevent Support Heal Campaign to urge our government to properly fund mental health community support services and prevention programs.

From this campaign, the Youth Steering Committee was born, with passionate young members from all walks of life around WA.

Young people are in crisis

Young people are reaching out to mental health services only to be told there is a long waiting list.
Young people, their families and carers and service providers consistently report that mental health services are fragmented and confusing and difficult for young people to access unless they have reached crisis point.

Referrals to the WA Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services have increased 51 per cent in the past four years to 5794 children and young people in 2019.
Only 16 percent of referrals for children as young as 5 to 11 years old were accepted in 2019.

WE WANT ACTION..NOW! And we need to Government and all politicians to listen to us!

We have decided to call a snap online rally on February 20 at 12pm, where the voices of young people will be heard!

If you are passionate about well-being and saving lives then join us on the 20th of February for our Youth Online Rally! Together we will call on all political parties in Western Australia to commit to balancing the mental health system!

THIS EVENT IS MADE BY YOUTH FOR YOUTH

You will hear from young people themselves, the CEO of WAAMH and politicians.

Everyone is welcome to join in on the action through Zoom, so please register online and let all of your friends know about this fun and interactive event!
