6/5/17 - Missouri Mondays!

CALL TO ACTION!

Sign the Repeal Right-to-Work Petition & Attend SOS Meeting on Voter ID

Now that the state legislature is out we are turning our attention to other calls to action for Missouri Mondays! This week we are encouraging you to attend the following events:

Sign the Repeal Right to Work petition.  Right to Work laws such as the one passed in Missouri and signed by the Governor make it harder for working people to form unions and collectively bargain for better wages, benefits and working conditions. Saturday, June 10th, 2017 there are events throughout the metro where you can sign the petition to add Right to Work to the ballot in 2018 and let Missourians decide. There are “drive thru” events where you can just drive up, sign the petition and drive away.  Find one near you at the following links:

Attend Voter ID Meetings. June 1st, 2017 the new law requiring a photo ID to vote went into the effect. Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft is hosting a series of regional information meetings sharing an update on the new voter ID requirements, unfortunately these events seem to be only happening in predominately Red districts, if you can attend these two meetings on Tuesday, June 6th we are encouraging you to do so.  If you can’t make it, you can call Secretary of State John Ashcroft at (573) 751-4936 and ask why he is not holding these informative meetings in Kansas City.
