Rep. Josh Turek is a former professional wheelchair basketball player who won two gold medals representing Team U.S.A. in the Paralympics. He is the first elected official using a wheelchair to represent his district in the Iowa Legislature. He was elected to that seat after beating his Republican opponent by just six votes in one of the most competitive races in the state. Now he's running for re-election to continue advocating to fully fund our public schools, make healthcare a right, raise the minimum wage, and protect the environment.
