Description:
Apply now for Aqui Crecemos 2017, a 3-day training in the Rio Grande Valley to build LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and queer) people of color leadership! Participants of this training will play major roles in organizing with Aqui Estamos RGV to continue protecting LGBTQ+ people in our borderland.
The training will be on January 13, 14, and 15 in 2017. The application will close at 11:59 PM on December 16, 2016.
Youth who are LGBTQ identifying people of color are especially encouraged to apply. There are no fees to apply or to attend Aqui Crecemos.

What to expect:
During Aqui Crecemos, you will be able to choose one of four tracks to focus on. The track that you choose should reflect your interest on how you’d like to help organize with Aqui Estamos RGV. The tracks are:
Digital organizing & communications
Annual conference planning
Campaign planning & executing
Community education & outreach
Commitment expectations:
Participants must be there all 3 days of training
Participants are expected to volunteer about 5 hours a week in 2017 to organize with Aqui Estamos RGV (Note: Aqui Estamos RGV is 100% volunteer-run!)
Requirements to apply:
Be at least 18 years old
Live in the Rio Grande Valley
Be LGBTQ identifying

Child care will be provided
Participants will be provided free meals during the training
Gas vouchers and housing accommodations may be provided for the duration of this training. More details will be released once applicants receive acceptance letters.
