Attend CPS Energy Public Hearing - Ask for Transition from Fossil Fuels to Renewable Energy

Climate_action_sa_logo

CPS Energy - San Antonio's city-owned utility - is asking for pubic input on its future energy plan.

In March, CPS Energy rolled out its “Flexible Plan,” which proposed a future that includes burning coal for electricity until at least 2040. The plan doesn't show almost any renewable energy being added to the energy mix until almost 2030, even though wind and solar are now the cheapest energy sources.

We met with utility leadership and asked for a more public process to discuss this important decision. This public hearing is a partial response to that request.

WHAT: Presentation and public hearing on CPS Energy’s future energy plan
WHEN: 5:00 – 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 13
WHERE: Villita Assembly Building (401 Villita St)

Please help us to demonstrate that the people of San Antonio value clean air and a livable climate and want to quickly phase out the use of polluting fossil fuels.

The goals we're asking CPS Energy to adopt are:

  • Coal-Free by 2025
  • Fossil Fuel Free by 2030

Sign up to attend the hearing and please wear a blue shirt.
