Attend the Basic Income Earth Network World Congress in Glasgow

The world's biggest Basic Income conference is being hosted in Glasgow this year. The Basic Income Earth Network World Congress will be taking place online from August 18th-21st in partnership with Basic Income Network Scotland and the University of Strathclyde.

This year's Congress will be the first of its kind, hosted online to a global audience. It is also the first Congress to be priced on a pay what you can basis.

An international line up of Basic Income researchers, specialists and advocates will be presenting over the course of the conference, alongside a programme of informal and interactive events and workshops.

Complete this form to register for your place at the Basic Income Earth Network World Congress - we'll be announcing the programme and inviting you to register for sessions soon.

This conference is an opportunity to showcase the breadth of work happening across Scottish civil society and to learn from world leading Scottish research on basic income.

The theme of this year's Congress is 'Idea to Reality' and there will be a day focusing specifically on the future of Basic Income in Scotland. Where basic income has the endorsement of the First Minister and a Scottish Feasibility Study has recently recommended a Basic Income Pilot Scheme. With this in mind, we want this year's Congress to be a chance for local organisations and groups who are interested in Basic Income to get involved in the movement and for lived experience to meet and inform research and policy design.

We want the 22nd BIEN Congress to be not just an opportunity for Basic Income specialists but for Scotland. Widening participation to include perspectives that will bring life, detail and urgency to discussions. We’re particularly interested in perspectives from healthcare and environmental campaigners.
