Chapter Endorsement - Second-Round Ballot (SAMPLE)
This sample ballot was created to provide an example of the Our Revolution Arizona Coalition two-round endorsement process. This example of a second-round ballot was drawn from 2018 Arizona statewide races. Actual results from a 2018 first-round endorsement vote conducted by Our Revolution Phoenix are used in this example. This is not a live ballot.
SUMMARY:
This ballot is the second and final ballot in a two-round process to determine which candidates will be endorsed by the Our Revolution Arizona Coalition or the particular chapter conducting the endorsement vote. The first ballot contained all candidates in each race, regardless of party, and allowed voters to choose all candidates that the voter would support if elected. Each candidate that received votes on a majority of cast first ballots has advanced to this endorsement ballot. The full endorsement process is detailed within our Regional Chapter Policies.
This ballot is for statewide offices. Separate ballots will be generated for the races for U.S. House, the Arizona State Legislature, and other local offices.
SECOND BALLOT EXPLANATION:
The second ballot in the Our Revolution Arizona Coalition process is the endorsement ballot. The purpose of this ballot is to determine (based on Our Revolution values) if any candidate is worthy of an endorsement. For elected offices with multiple seats available, you will receive a number of votes for each race equal to the number of seats being elected. Candidates that receive a three-fifths majority of votes on cast second ballots shall be endorsed.
SECOND BALLOT INSTRUCTIONS:
For each race, select the box or button next to the candidate (or the number of candidates specified for a multiple-seat race) that you believe should be endorsed. A vote for a single candidate signifies that you believe that only the selected candidate is worthy of endorsement. If you feel that no candidates in a race adequately represent Our Revolution values, select "None Of The Above". If you do not know enough about the candidates in a race to vote on endorsement, are unable to decide between multiple worthy candidates, or otherwise wish to abstain in a vote for a particular race, select "Undecided / Abstaining".
EXAMPLE 1: A race on the ballot contains the candidate that you feel is the best among those running, but you feel that this candidate does not fully support the policy platform of Our Revolution. Based on the ballot instructions, you select the button next to "None Of The Above".
EXAMPLE 2: A race on the ballot contains multiple candidates that you feel are worthy of endorsement, but you feel that none of the candidates is more worthy than the others. Based on the ballot instructions, you select the button next to "Undecided / Abstaining".

A NOTE ABOUT THE TWO-ROUND PROCESS:
First-round ballots are designed to include ALL candidates, regardless of party, that have qualified for the electoral ballots in the appropriate district or state. Please note that inclusion on the first ballot does not imply support. We are aware that some candidates in some races may be opposed to Our Revolution values. However, our commitment to a democratic process has led us to a simple conclusion: that the power to eliminate candidates from consideration belongs to the people (in this case our members), and not with the few people managing the process at any given time.
Each one of our voting members is pledged to support Our Revolution values. We expect each of you to honor that pledge when you cast your votes, and we intend to hold members accountable if they do not. If we find that any of our members are voting in opposition to our values, our leadership is prepared to address it. However, we are confident that our members will make the right decisions for all of us.
