As part of Democratize ComEd's political education work, we will be reading a transcript of a speech given in 1981 by Bernice Johnson Reagon entitled ""Coalition Politics: Turning the Century"". The short reading touches on race, inclusion, and the power of creative work to forge genuine coalition. It's punchy, it's relevant, and it's challenging in parts.

Dr. Reagon is a composer, activist, and founding member of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee.
