CT DSA Working Group Elections 2025

Interested in stepping up to a leadership position within your working group? We are currently accepting Co-Chair candidates for Connecticut DSA's Working Groups for the 2025-2026 term.

The submission of nominations will be open between April 25 and May 20, 2025.

Working groups elect up to two (2) co-chairs that are responsible for planning monthly meetings (agenda, turnout, etc.), facilitating progress on campaigns and projects, giving regular reports to our Steering Committee, and engaging with working group membership to integrate them into campaigns and develop their organizing skills. The following Working Groups are electing co-chairs:

  • Housing Justice Project
  • Labor Working Group
  • Ecosocialist Working Group
  • International Working Group
  • Reproductive Justice
  • Political Education Working Group
  • Electoral Working Group
  • Education Justice Working Group

If you are interested in running, please fill out this form to provide information about yourself to the broader membership including why you think you would be a good candidate for co-chair of your working group. You can read more about working group structures in Article IX of our bylaws.

Working Group Co-Chairs Elections Process & Eligibility

  1. Any active member of a Working Group (defined as having attended at least one Working Group meeting in the last 6 months) may vote in the Co-Chair election for that Working Group.
  2. Any member in good standing who is an active member of a Working Group may run to be a Working Group Co-Chair.
  3. CT DSA will use an STV method in order to conduct their election.
  4. CT DSAs nomination period shall close on May 20th. During our Chapter Convention (May 31st), we will hold candidate panels and give members a chance to ask questions to candidates.
  5. The day after our Chapter Convention, on June 1st, Electronic Ballots will be sent out to members eligible to vote. Ballots will remain open until June 6th.

What follows are some general questions and answers around the Working Group elections:

Q: Who is eligible to run for a Working Group co-chair position?

A: Any dues paying member of good standing in DSA that has attended at least one working group meeting in the last six months is eligible to run for a co-chair position.


Q: Can you run for multiple working group co-chair positions at once?

A: No, you may only hold one seat at a time. You may change the seat you are running for by alerting the election runners or interim steering committee.
