When David Richardson became the acting chief administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and held his first all-hands meeting with agency staff he told them: "Don't get in my way… I will run right over you."

Since then, under Richardson’s leadership, FEMA has denied federal assistance for tornadoes in Arkansas, flooding in West Virginia and a windstorm in Washington state. It also has refused North Carolina’s request for extended relief funding in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, something Trump personally promised during his campaign – while making up lies about the lack of support NC received from FEMA under President Biden.

Now, with the start of Hurricane Season on June 1st, we find out this:

While more than 100 people died during Hurricane Helene, a recent study estimates that even with full FEMA support for recovery, somewhere between 7,000 to 11,000 people will die over the next 15 years as a result of just this one storm, maybe even more.^[1]

Enough is enough. Whether Richardson meant it as a joke or truly didn’t know, either way, he is not qualified for this job.
