#DontMessWithOurVote Rapid Response

At a time when, elected officials are feeding corporate greed, undermining our justice system, rolling back progress on climate change, and eroding labor rights we need to send a message to this administration and all elected leaders not to mess with our right to vote.

The commissioners have stirred up fear among voters and are ignoring the real threats to democracy to advance a racist false narrative that will lead to thousands, if not millions, of eligible voters becoming political targets. Now is the time to take collective action in order to protect our right to vote while organizing to create a demand for modernization and security of our voting system.

The Democracy Initiative is committed to act on behalf of our coalition to coordinate our resistance efforts and actions in the field working with partners and Leadership Conference. This is only the beginning of collective action to both build and exercise our grassroots power.

The Pence/Kobach Commission is holding their first meeting on Wednesday, July 19th and the public can watch online https://www.whitehouse.gov/live. Thousands of concerned citizens have voiced their objections online to the commissioners.

Now is our time to turn up the volume! We want to send a strong message that this coalition  will not let them shrink our voting power and to tell the commissioners “Do not mess with our vote.”
