Can you commit to disrupting the AGM of Britain's dirtiest power station?
Drax, an energy company and owner of it's eponymous power station, will be holding it's annual general meeting on 1st May 2025 where they will boast to their shareholders the eyewatering profits they have made. We will disrupt that happening.
Not only is Drax Power Station the single biggest source of CO2 emissions in the UK, they are also the world's biggest tree burning power station. Particularly egregiously, Drax fuels environmental racism in their creating of pelleted wood to burn by forcing whole communities to live under toxic dust and pollution clouds.
Through mega subsidies added straight to our energy bills, Drax is set to close this year with over A BILLION in revenue. They survive off subsidies, and with their current contract set to run out in 2027 are being held in limbo by Ed Miliband.
Last year, over twenty people got into Drax's AGM as small shareholders to confront the directors. The stage was stormed, a choir took over and even Chris Packham joined the AGM to put his unanswered emails straight to Drax CEO's face. Watch some of the chaos:
