Global Women's Climate Justice Mobilization Day of Action - September 29

WECAN International is organizing a Global Women's Climate Justice Mobilization Day of Action on September 29th, 2015.

Women across the globe are invited to hold local actions in their communities, which we will be weaved together via social media, shared images/videos, and print and digital media.

Local actions can range from holding up signs with messages to world leaders, to marches, demonstrations of local solutions to climate change, and actions and statements to highlight local struggles and the harms that your community is facing. Have another idea? We welcome it!

Please use this form to submit ideas and details on planned actions.

There will be a separate portal for submiting photos/videos/statements during and after the Sept. 29 Day of Action.

If you would like to participate in an action, but need to find allies to plan and act with, we encourage you to fill out this form too. We will work to link you with other women in the network who may be planning actions in your area.

Visit the WECAN International webpage for more information.

Background

We are calling for this worldwide women’s climate mobilization in light of the December 2015 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) COP21, where world governments will finalize a climate agreement that will have profound impacts on our global trajectory.

As a network of women for climate justice, we can and must stand up and act together to show negotiators that the time has come to listen to the peoples call for equitable, immediate, and bold action on climate change.
